Who I Am
Born in the Pacific Northwest, I’m equal parts inventor, legal nerd, mountain trail runner, and champion for underdogs.
My life path: Psychology → Law → IP specialist → Computer Science → Dad (the toughest job of all).
I believe in demystifying the patent process and empowering people who never thought they’d “belong” in the innovation world.
Vulnerability, Quirks & Real Talk
- Anxiety and humor are my secret weapons (they help me connect and keep it real with clients).
- I talk to myself—a lot—and claim it’s brainstorming.
- I once took a patent examiner call during a toddler diaper change (multitasking: pro-level).
- Favorite place for ideas: anywhere with dirt under my shoes and the wind in my face.
Life Rules I Try to Live By
- Kindness beats cleverness, every time.
- No dumb questions—ever.
- Celebrate small wins; they add up.
- Admitting you’re wrong isn’t weakness; it’s growth.
Why I Do This Work
Innovation is messy, human, and magical.
Most inventors are told to “go away” by someone at least once. My mission: make sure you don’t listen.
I do this because someone did it for me—and because I love watching people get that first big “yes.”
